Mission Summary
One dark and not so stormy night, twelve pilots silently ventured into the depths of REDACTED Forest, in pursuit of REDACTED Cave. Five years ago, when SCUL pilots embarked on a similar mission, all mission photos mysteriously disappeared… would this season of pilots be able to complete what Operation Cave-In could not?
Pilots arrived to launch pad posi and prepared (minus a tool bag but as a highly trained gang there were enough tools to go around). Tyrian and Bane Thunderwolf brought the bug spray, Fleet Admiral Skunk had a test tube ready for any cave findings analysis, and there were snax snax snax. There was even a light saber to support courageous cave exploring. After a brief intercept at Wegman's for PQ and Excess and for more snax, pilots were warmed up and ready for whatever the cool night might bring.
Bane Thunderwolf expertly navigated the fleet along the g-wells of west Medford, instructing us when to extinguish our lasers upon reaching the opening to the Forest. Let the spacewalking and mysterious forest snaps and rustling branches commence. A clear starry sky lit the path, while also casting HARV shadows in every direction. Alas the spacewalking terrain proved too much for Shockwave- Dr. Claw bravely waited as the rest of the fleet made their way to the legendary cave.
Although the zealous pilots ultimately achieved their mission, the evening was fraught with unexpected turbulence- Ziqqurat and Iridium suffered at least two unexpected falls due to the combined weight of tool bag and flat bag; a massive blackhole the size of Uranus forced pilots to confront several grumpy transports; and the G-wells, oh were there g-wells.
Thankfully, between the combined forces of Syntax Error, Abracadaver, and Shockwave, the life support was booming and the pilots were groovin. They even got passing civilians to Bust the Funk.
No stormtroopers were spotted… and more importantly, the twelve pilots weren't either.
And unlike Operation Cave-In, the photos survived and are now visible to all… for now. Check back again in five years.
Into the woods, into the woods!
