Illuminus
After a very quiet MRC with a total of 0 pilots we launched eleven strong, with many late arrivals such as Sewer and Wombat. Morale was strong and we garnered many hi-fives.
By means of many Public Alleys, we toured some of the most expensive space parking spaces in Boston. Arriving at the Illuminus art festival downtown, beneath a glaring ARTHUB sign (plainly a misspelling of "Arthur") we enjoyed bizarre luminiferous objects and environments, and a hot dog. A projection onto the pavement which interacted with pilots' shadows inspired many curious evolutions, and a wild percussive interpretation of Fenway Park was appreciated.
An unstable mooring point toppled into a nearby transport, denting its hull, and being the stand-up gang we are, we took responsibility and will remedy the damage. As Skunk was filling out the police report, hostile alien lifeforms rifled through Cloudbuster's storage hold and tried to give away his chocolate molecules. They were seen and stopped before permanent damage was done, but that was brazen.
Heading along the esplanade, brushing space trees back from our faces and space geese from our wheels, we went to a fine playground including a Little Free Library and a slide of great length. Dreadflint got lots of exercise on a Dreadflint-sized hamster wheel, and earned a medal of something -- we think Strength? -- by his unreasonable dexterity. There were dramatic readings from "Dark Tide", a chronicle of the great molasses flood of 1919. Many of us tried out a fine zipline, and Sewer fell off it.
Then we flew casual-like, taking a brief detour onto the river. A foray into Canal Park, a place I have never seen by daylight and am not sure really exists. And then to home. A fine mission despite everyone showing up late!
