Mission Summary
In the evening of Saturday, August 24, 2024, five pilots from the Starchasers gathered to grab their DeLorians, TARDIS's, and spaceships to venture Back in Time at Re-runs ( https://www.facebook.com/rerunsnostalgia/?_rdr ) behind a mysterious Green Door on the notoriously chaotic and treacherous Acushnet Avenue.
Led by Navi Poofinson and Assistant Navi Moonbeam, the pilots (comprising the aforementioned as well as Ledgehammer, pilot-in-training Rats and pilot-in-training Peregrine) set out at approximately 18:00 hours. Moonbeam made sure to keep the man behind the green door updated on their progress in order to allow him to open the portal at the correct time. The squad encountered some initial difficulties, including the failure of a Sonic Disruptor unit, but made it to the target destination without major issues.
Nelson, the proprieter of Re-runs, met the Starchasers behind the Green Door, 40 years back in time, in 1984. His portal to the past serves as a gathering place and living record for the 80s. From still-wrapped action figures to emulators re-creating the video games of a bygone era to candy to comic to the televisions playing the TMNT movie and some old cartoon that looked like it was animated by the Scooby-Doo animators, but it was Western themed (?), Nelson really had everything.
The Starchasers were grateful to spend some time in another era gaming, watching, and ogling a time they had never before seen. Nelson said it was important to him to keep this time and dimension alive and Starchasers swore to uphold and remember this time. The Starchasers had fun and frolicked, and left well-satiated at approximately 20:00 hours. As they returned to stardate 2024, they remembered and reenacted and reminisced upon the 80s and tried to incorporate its nostalgic sci-fi, hopeful energy and the feeling that the world is on the up and up and full of whimsy into their flight home.
The Starchasers squadron made it back to Fort Union without difficulty.
"It felt great to go back in time!" said Navi Poofinson.
