Allergic to the Daystar's punitive effects, five pilots prepared this eve to bust the funk on our home turf while the main fleet was away
augmenting themselves in Salem. Though if the Daystar would've cooked us, what condition would the main fleet be in by now? With the main fleet's status unknown, a search and rescue operation was hastily crafted.
The ragtag band of pilots gathered for launch, utilizing what the civilians call a "boom box" strapped haphazardly to DPX Bieber Fever. In fact with so few pilots reporting and not wanting to take jobs, BaneThunderwolf took a crack at Lordmcfuzz's pointwhore of the year title, by taking all the necessary unclaimed jobs. At the moment of launch, the crew were saddened at the sudden burn up of RadMax, whose ship was suffering from a malaligned chain drive. With the grim reminder of the dangers of space travel ever-present, the local fleet set out.
BaneThunderwolf had limited contact with Dead Bride, Tailgunner of the main fleet, and was able to get intermittant bits of rough intel on the fleets position which he used to plot an intercept course. If all went well we should enter the same wormhole as the main fleet, ahead of their position. If not, we could miss them by lightyears.
A minor mechanical inside the Assembly Row cluster revealed that the "boom box" could dislodge its warp core holding due to turbulence and would need to be closely monitored. This was a small price to pay for the ability to use the tape deck, should we stumble across an errant mixtape. The fleet continued beyond the Mystic Asteroid Belt and found a small wormhole inhabited by many small hopping critters.
With the final jump complete, the local fleet arrived at the Wormhole junction, not 100m ahead of the main fleet. We quickly closed the gap and fell into escort formation, passing out high fives, and syncing our groove systems. The combined fleets took shore leave a short time later where they exchanged tales of their augmented exploits abroad and of our surprise precision intercept.
The combined fleets returned uneventfully through the Everet System, where the mission was deemed a success with the local fleet performing post mission ceremonies simultaneously with the main fleet. Taco awarded BaneThunderwolf with a Medal of Intercept and all returned to the fort where it was discovered that Fleet Admiral Skunk had indeed suffered damage from the Daystar.
