Cosmic Safari
How was the SCUL ride?
Good.
We went looking for animal statues and murals
Fun. Find any? Where did you fly?
Letsee...we left scul and went to central and between there and the river went to The Comsic Moose which is this guy's fence that has all these advice quotes and stuff
and a giant moose outline
and then we went to harvard square to the mural on church street with the mountain lion
then we went back towards central...turned right towards the river, and rode by the river past microcenter-like, anyway we eventually got to one of the fens schools that has a big metal leopard statue and then to the college of the museum of art, and they have a big rhinoceros.
Nice.
and then we went to trinity chruch and there is a rabbit and a turtle (tortise and hare maybe, but he seemed pretty turtle like)
They're both pretty slow, I suppose
and then we went down boylston for a bit and over to the river, along the path by the hatch shell and to lechmere where the T-rex is
Wait, where is the t-rex? Science museum?
Yup.
Before that leotard got her chain derailed and while some poeple fixed it the rest of us went over the foot bridge to be by the storrow lagoon where there's this little lit up fountain and there were big spiders everywhere.
Real spiders?
Real spiders. And a Great Blue Heron too! Anyway after the t-rex we headed down cambrdige and turned towards this place where we go alot, it's this park under the zakim
and then from there we kept going towards the Charlestown marina,
and then to the roundabout by Sullivan
and up to assembly and to the lego giraffe
Ah, nice
Sounds like a lot of fun. I should join sometime!
the riding can get sketchy/intesne sometimes
like we try to be safe but it was raining
and sometimes we end up in places where just the ground isn't great and stuff
Maybe some day you'll invite me :-p
Of course i will!
The lightning was pretty impressive
We had some friends over for dinner and could see it out our window.
Yeah but it never reached us. We just had rain.
no hail either (thank god)
That's good. I heard there was some of that further West
Did you have rain gear or just get soaked?
It wasn't that wet. I like "man I thought it was going to RAIN"
and it was warm.
The problem with getting wet is wearing wet clothes, so the key is, less clothing!
If it had been at all cold though i would have been signing a different tune.
Yeah. Warm rain, I imagine, could actually be rather nice
It was.
Oh so like at this one point we were on this sidewalk by a bridge but then the sidewalk was all ripped up for a few yards and the part we could ride on was relatively narrow
and it was kind of steep
:-)
I was holding on to the railing of the bridge to pull myself away from the ripped up sidewalk and up the hill (we were going pretty slow cuz we were stoping up ahead, which I hate)
and then the railing is all rusted out and hollow in this one spot, and I was paying enough attention to see that comming, but there was we had a maggot who was already having a hard time keeping up, and had already gotten into one collision with another ship
Oh dear
and I was just like "hell if this was my first ride I'd be terrified"
The rides usually aren't so sketchy but it's often hard to tell ahead of time.
I felt like it was hard to ride, so I can't imagine how she felt.
But she stuck it out none the less! In the end, that's all it takes.
We had some guests too, Sage and Civitron were visiting from the Starchasers, and there was another long haired hippie who thinks he wants his official name to be Bubbles.
Oh and we had a mechanical while we were trying to leave assembly.
Is that a mechanical problem? Someones "ship" broke?
Yup. Sage had to have his "plasma casing" replaced (that's the tube inside a tire) and in the mean time Snow, Sewer and XXIII threw pine cones at each other.

We found landmarks and murals of wild animals and got photos with them. Examples are the Lego giraffe, MOS T-rex, the Cosmic Moose, etc. Don't forget the visit to Spider Town ("once you visit you'll want to stick around")
