Space Camp Jr.
Pastry Queen's debut navigation led six pilots on a wild ride that Hapto would've been proud of. Our camping crew navigated the labyrinth of the Somerville and Cambridge systems until Wombat was dealt a mighty blow to the face from the robotic Minotaur that guards Porter Exchange. With pilot juices leaking from his head and nose, one of the Minotaur's handlers came out to inform us that he had no idea why it acted like that, but took Wombat and a few pilots inside to attend his wounds.
With a newly patched Wombat, the fleet rounded the block to the Porter Deathstar to stock up on (un)savory snacks. Many HARV track stands (and some balancing tricks) highlighted the twisting route to and through the Harvard constellation. Pastry Queen led us to the tinyist of cul de sacs, but salvation was found through a narrow, overgrown path.
As the fleet approached its first destination, a wayward Klingon joined our ranks and ended up following us the entire mission, all the way home to our secret lair. Snow shared some of his home brewed apple- and barley-based steering dampeners as Threespeed and others made quick work of the tent. It was no snowglobe, but fit all pilots comfortably. Light radiation vectored to our location, so we struck the tent and moved on to find another place to camp.
Magazine Beach. There were no magazines, and we didn't see a beach. There were however, many geese. Our arrival spooked one flock, the other remained content to watch from a distance before being harassed by a passing vagrant. Here, Pastry Queen produced her small camp burner and s'more molecule fixins' and pilots quickly got to work consuming the sticky stuff. Wombat's sausage also made an appearance. Pilots reveled in Bane's tales from a faraway system known as "The Playa" and Wombat helped Snow understand the finer points of twerking.
As the Starchasers were camping at Myles Standish tonight, so should Metro Alpha! The fleet made its way over the river yet again, this time to BU. Our destination, Myles Standish Hall, was heavily fortified and made it difficult to find a campsite. One was found with ample safe space for camping, but there was a guard at a nearby door, with clear view of the area. The gang hatched a plan to build the tent out of view, then quickly move it to the campsite and camp before the guard could tell us to move along. The plan was a huge success, and would have been even if the guard hadn't been distracted by a nearby paper.
With all mission objectives completed, the fleet casually made it's way back home, where medals were awarded and pilots could return to their normal bunks.
