Omegamission 2013
Thirty-seven pilots graced the launchpad with their presence. USB Cargobay Two had been coupled with USB Starhustler and loaded with precious cargo: Seven mighty trophies and one secret emblem had been taken aboard inside a heavily-shielded container. The gravity field was massive. We set course for the recently traditional landing site for out glorious closing ceremonies, and immediately blasted off in the opposite direction.
Sightly starboard after the first navigational buoy, an enormous transport attacked. After a few warning shots and threats over comm, he rammed Cargobay Two! The fleet stopped, and local ships surrounded the transport making it impossible to escape. It seemed that the crew had been affected by some hostile virus. He was unable to detain, even though an ST was nearby to assist. His escape path came within inches of a few ships.
The good news is that no pilots were injured. We collected an impressive amount of data on the craft and her crew. Six eye witness accounts, lots of still image data, and even vid.
Threespeed and Moose collected another cargo bay and reloaded the cargo. With spirits still high, we were off again.
After much roundabout route as to not to make our flight path obvious to further transport attack coordinating, we arrived with the DDS and the trailer mostly in tact. Pilots made merry in the playgrounds while Skunk prepared for the closing ceremony.
The last mission of the SCUL season is Omegamission, nicknamed "Life Day". It is a time honored event where pilots tell one another how much they appreciate the things they do for SCUL. Awards are given out, but mostly it's people letting each other know by simply saying so in face to face and not on stage.
Leotard gave out some awards, which will be added to the record officially.
Medals of Outpost, Century, Intergalactic, 50, 100, and 200 mission-marks were recognized and appointed.
Skunk gave out the following award trophies:
Zappa: Lucky to Have You Back 2013
Tyrian: Rookie of the Year 2013
Doctor Claw: Wookiee of the year 2013
Stogie: Got it Where it Counts 2013
Wombat: Above and Beyond 2013
We also have an this massive award: the Iron Cog. It is the highest honor you can receive from SCUL. Iron Cogs are chosen by Skunk, with his advisory group being those active pilots who hold the Iron Cog title. Being presented with this award comes with the responsibility of being a dauntless positive force for the gang. Except in rare circumstances, it is only given out once per season's end.
Skunk was about to award the 2013 Iron Cog when suddenly there was a rift in the space-time funkitoodium. Everybody spontaneously boogied down so hard, we got knocked back to 2008! Another Iron Cog appeared: for Nosepicker!
Suddenly after an implosion of 'hip-hip-hoorary's mixed with 'look how young we all look's, the stars shifted back to their original position, and we were back in 2013. Was there still a cog, or was there some sort of temporal paradox? YES! Iron Cog 2013 is BAAAAAAANE THUNDERWOLF!!!!
Let it be noted also that a mighty medallion was forged: Long live the Starchaser Division!
All hands were made merry. We then packed up the booty and headed back to base without incident of recollection.
These trophies were made by Skunk, with big help from Threespeed and XXIII.
Additional: We collected and reported the data to the ST headquarters. They were helpful and friendly.
