Follow the Sun, Into the Night

Mission Summary
On this Betamission of the 2023 season, 10 hearty pilots gathered in the dwindling daylight to greet the dawn of the night at a chill location by the Chestnut Hill Nebula. With only seasoned pilots for the ride and no new ships to Christen, we readily left the landing pad under the navigation of BaaaaaaaaaneThunderwolf. He guided us through the Allston system and along the Beacon starpath towards the Newton system. We arrived at the ChstnuthILl Reservoir as the daystar lowered.
As we headed around a portion of the heavy nebula, Snow intercepted disguised as an S.T. bearing barley soda and aged berry juices. The locals offered plenty of high fives and one even tracked us down to share a picture he took of us while we were riding around the reservoir. Skunk handed out several stickers and pilots relaxed and stretched. There were also swarms of some winged lifeforms enjoying the emergence of Spring that were a bit of a nuissance but we didn't let them harsh our mellow
We rested a long while until the daystar was below the horizon. We then headed off to get icecream molecules, despite the fact the temperatures were chilly and dropping. Grog burned up as we departed It was a short jaunt and a little negi g-well to Luna WhiteMountainCreamery in the ChestnutHill System. We fueled up on ice cream molecules, chalked up the area, and added some additional layers to our spacesuits. The hope was to return to the fort before the temperatures got any colder.
Shortly after our departure, Wombat popped Yer Mom's spoke in the wandering backroads of the Brighton System. The fleet, entranced in the galactic groove coming from Skunk's life support, took some chasing down by Acehole to heed the calls of the mechanical. The fleet finally regrouped. Wombat worked on a quick fix to avoid his primary thruster from rubbing against the ship's hull but was worried that the rough conditions of the local starpaths would cause more broken spokes to follow. So Wombat set the pace for our return to try to nurse the ship back to the landing pad without further incident.
We finally left the Brighten starpaths and followed a portion of the DudleyWhite wormhole back to the Allston system. We arrived at the fort nice and early, having met all of our mission objectives.
