The space libraries were oddly silent this rotation. Perhaps, their lack of commotion was in and of itself a signal - a message from the long dead keepers of those ancient citadels of arcanum. Maybe they were hoping we wouldn't come investigate. Perhaps in their infinite wisdom, they knew of some danger that lay ahead.
Did they foresee the electromagnetic pulse which would disable Threespeed's transport, thus impeding safe passage between the Primeverse and the Secret Sector? Were they hoping to prevent us from repeating the calamity of last season's mission? Was this real life?! Did the space librarians
sabotage the mission?! Or was there another force at work? Perhaps it was something magical.
The Starchasers assembled and with our ships ready and lasers equipped, we decided against all better judgement that with or without our cousins from the north, this mysterious force warranted an investigation and we would do just that. SCD Intelligence intercepted a distress signal from Lunar Teeth, a colony of interdisciplinary space-artists eager to make our acquaintance. This would become our primary destination but would we make it in time?
The mighty Starchasers cruised the Buttonwood Constellation at a groovy speed of Warp Chill and that was just fine. After a stop at Luna Walgreens, dazzling many a passerby, we were off to explore the inky black cosmos of the New Bedford System. We zipped past Luna Libros Lawler but it was cold, dark, and silent. So, we continued to Luna Libros Prime in the dNB. The place was surrounded with ST patrol units but... they seemed happy to see us. This was indeed an odd albeit not surprising development. We are pretty fantastic - a chromasonic blaze of busted funk and shiny laser hull plating. So, we dropped anchor for a brief shore leave for chalk, some quick repairs to Angry Candy's propulsion transfer conduit, and to launch a Microburst dance party into the atmosphere. It was a bit premature but we couldn't hold it in any longer and it was glorious.
Suddenly, we began to feel the pull of some other-worldly force. We were being beckoned to by the chief spell-caster of Lunar Teeth! There was no resisting her power. Without delay we continued our trek across, over, under, around, and through both time and space to Space Station Ropeworks in the Northern Quadrant of the System. As we made our approach into only slightly deeper space, we could sense a magic in the air. At last, we had arrived to discover this merry band of alien lifeforms delighted to share stories, hugs, high-fives, and perhaps too much steering dampener for our pilots to handle. We had made first contact with Lunar Teeth!
Once we felt satisfied that we had overstayed our welcome, we began our journey back to the Buttonwood Constellation. Mad Owl burned up upon re-entry, leaving Scrambler to pilot Angry Candy through the dastardly g-wells of the dNB but it didn't matter. Our mission, while much shorter than originally planned, was a success.
