Matter States
Ten pilots set out, determined to learn more about the different states of matter. Of course, we had all experienced them in the form of radiation and unsavory snacks, but tonight was the time for true scientific experimentation.
To start off the research mission, Pastry Queen unveiled a ship which excells when faced with solid or almost-solid matter states: Opinionated Oofnik Fabricators - Sugar Pusher. This innovative ship, which has been field tested*, will no doubt prove to be just the foray SCUL needs in order to conquer optimal flight regardless of radiation matter state.
Shortly after departing from the launch site, it became clear that instead of the radiation anticipated by some pilots, we were instead in for a scientific anomaly: the Full Thunder Moon. Unfortunately, the matter state of the Full Thunder Moon was not fully investigated, though this may be a good jumping off point for a future research team. Regardless, all pilots basked in its dim guiding light.
Our first stop was at a 711 refueling station for unsavory snacks and, of course, to see what matter states we could find there. couscous found some ICE, and the fleet quickly discovered a variety of uses: eating, cooling down WATER molecules, eating to create WATER, dropping on the ground, and transporting for later use. The idea of an ICE derby was considered, but we used science to discern that would be a bad idea.
Next, we flew along the boardwalks of the Charles and Mystic asteroid belts. It was here we stopped to investigate the last state of matter: STEAM. ThreeSpeed used a fire-making-thingy he found adrift to take some ICE, turn it into WATER, and then boil it to make STEAM. We discovered that at this point, the matter was perfect for making tea. We used more ICE to cool the matter down, and the fleet enjoyed sharing the fruit of our discovery. Science!
Flying back towards the fort, we passed through the nostrils, and out the other side we arrived at our derby location. With our new knowledge of WATER, ICE, and STEAM, we were able to confirm our initial suspicion that WATER would be the best matter state for a derby. Shadowcat continued his streak of ranged derby victories, demonstrating amazing proficiency WATER-slinging on Mousetrap. The Full Thunder Moon shone down in approval.
This research mission was a success, and I can prove it scientifically: some pilots say that if you look up at the Full Thunder Moon, you can see the gaseous forms of these ten sciency-pilots floating across it in the moonlight.
