Mission Summary
For the first mission of 2024, the Starchasers set out on a light trek around our local airspace, the dNB quadrant of Sector 02740. The turnout was amazing. A little too amazing. Preflight went smooth. A little too smooth. The launch was flawless. A little too flawless. Then, in typical Starchasers Alphamission fashion, everything broke. A little too broke. The first thing to go was transmission to the sonic disruptor array. Then, Starfire's primary radiobucket kicked it, leaving only a sad whisper of life support to sustain the brave eight pilot squadron. One of the cadets was able to lend a hand with a backup disruptor but it wasn't much help. Nebula burned up to perform at a local cantina. Still, spirits remained high as we pressed onward to our primary destination - the Abolition Row Park Constellation. There, we took shore leave to complete our mission of collecting data about our surroundings using each of our six senses. With our sense of smell, we noted a barbecue in the distance; with our sense of sight, we identified that there were in fact constellations adorning the grounds and we chased them; using our sense of touch, we grabbed hold of each star with our hands and feet; using our sense of taste, we could taste the wood of the gazebo; we could hear the sounds of neighbors, listening to music and enjoying their evening; and with our sixth sense we could identify that something else had gone wrong. Legehammer had burned up without warning. Where did he go? He's fine. He just decided to go home. He sent us a message informing us of his status. After that, we decided that it was time to call it quits and go see Nebula's performance at Lunar Pour Farm. Despite all the trouble, the night was a success because we did all the things and we had all the fun. This season is already proving to be one of our best yet!
