Starchasers Tour de Tacky/Life Day
Up, up, and away! Cosmic Winter approaches! So, the Starchasers decided to suit up in our ugliest space-suit sweaters, ready our spaceships with the tackiest decorations, and set out on an adventure to explore holiday lights and bring cold weather gear to LGBTQ+ youth in need, this winter! We accepted new or gently-worn coats, hats, gloves, and scarves. Donations benefit NB-AGLY. Pilots with ships cargo holds bursting at the seems, brought their donations to the launchpad. Together, we flew to two out of four drop-sites located throughout the New Bedford Star System. Division Admiral Civitron, on a preliminary scouting mission, had secured assets collected from the Lunar Boutique Fitness. Our destination was a a dazzling tour de force laser array of electronically generated illuminatory decoration in the Clasky Common Constellation, where we rendezvoused with agents of the South Coast LGBTQ Network and hosted a tiny dance party amongst the twinkle twinkle. They even brought warm and unsavory molecules! TurboHoney and Mad Owl wrangled some pizza in exchange for a sticker and Beatle uncovered the legend of a Star Man.
The Admiral made the announcement to gathahround children, for it was time to tell a story. It was a story of thanks to all the brave pilots and new friends who have made this our most successful season yet. Beatle was at long last awarded the Stone Cog for his dedication to providing life support and for traveling many lightyears to fly missions and share his knowledge and experience with fellow pilots, prospective pilots, and Starchaser Academy. Mad Owl was awarded the Bronze Cog for his commitment to the cause of our gang, recruiting a record number of cadets, and flying missions and taking on tasks even when he wasn't feeling up to it. TurboHoney was awarded the Bronze Cog for her unyielding enthusiasm for everything Starchasers and offering her fort during missions she wasn't even on, for being an active leader in planning missions, and continuing to find ways for us to stay connected to the community. She is a true friend to her fellow pilots in times of need. So begins the race for the coveted title of the Starchasers first Iron Cog.
It's about to get cold. Hoth cold. Like that planet in 'Empire'. While we will take a hiatus from flying missions until April, we're not just gonna curl up inside a Tauntaun and wait for warmer days. No! Those things smell bad enough on the outside. We're fighting back against the cold with the warmth in our hearts.
