The Gang From L.A.Z.E.R.
Lights! Lasers! Action!
This night a brave group of pilots set out to enter the perilous Minuteman Wormhole on a quest to scope out the Concord Meadows, a diffuse nebula 15 light years away in deep space. Headed up by navigator Dead Bride, the explorers made a pit stop at the Davis System for savory provisions. Red Squirrel, the fearless mission leader, made sure that the fleet was properly outfitted with an appropriate amount of exotic matter. Lord McFuzz had a small array of terrifyingly regular lasers, but Squirrel judged that the exotic matter and lasers borne by the rest of the fleet would be sufficient to maintain the stability of the wormhole despite this.
The fleet entered the wormhole with no mishaps and journeyed through the darkness. The wormhole stayed stable, and pilots were kept safe by a robust life support system supported by Cloudbuster and Trinity. They emerged somewhere in the Concord System and prepared to enter an area of deep spaced notable for its very narrow safe passage and unpredictable turbulence, including a few patches of dangerous radioactive space sludge. The fleet spaced itself out and turned down life support, then proceeded into deep space. In addition to the high level of turbulence, there were also many instances of space salad and a rather lovely chorus of deep space insectoid and reptile species singing on our subspace frequencies.
After navigating the fearsome turbulence and a very short but challenging gravity well, the pilots arrived at Concord Meadows. They took a few minutes to admire the beautiful stars, then space-walked to a remote region of the Concord Asteroid Belt. They paused to investigate the local alien flora growing in the nebula, which Skunk illuminated with his blue light saber. Everyone got a good look, but then suddenly the lightsaber died!
Despite this ill omen the group bravely forged on to the asteroid belt. It was calm, and several pilots witnessed some extremely impressive shooting stars, one of which was large and green. Tard meanwhile showed off a little container of crystalline sillica she had brought, which had the odd appearance of fading from solid to air, and several pilots discovered they had been infested with alien spores known as "burrs" during the walk over.
Then everyone made their way back to the ships and snacked on Squirrel's sugary exotic matter, some of which rather resembled wombat poops, and drank the wiggle water Skunk had brought. Thus refreshed and ready for the return journey, the crew re-entered deep space and made their way back to the wormhole. The Minuteman almost destabilized toward the end due to a pair of hapless civies with regular-matter lazers, but Scul survived and prevailed through to Mass Ave. There the pilots rejoiced in their mission and executed a formidable Wall Formation, then cruised all the way back to the dock. Medals and prizes were awarded and the mission declared a success. It was not yet dawn.
