Through The Ringer
Ten pilots and one guest gathered on the launchpad for an easy ride, but little did they know what was in store for them. Shortly after launch, Excess discovered he had a blow out and the fleet stopped for repairs. The nearby road cone was spared the fate of becoming a mighty boot as Wombat was dispatched to the fort for replacement parts. Excess made quick work of repairs and the fleet was again flying towards a destination of snacks.
Passing through the Harvard Constellation, Pilot Zappa joined the fleet. The good weather coaxed many civilians out, who gave the fleet cheers of joy as we passed through. Arriving at Central Luna 7-11 the fleet discovered the mechanical caused the fleet to arrive too late and the shop was closed. Navigational charts where consulted and the fleet made way to Kendall Luna 7-11 where snacks were finally acquired and morale improved.
Lordmcfuzz navigated the fleet over the Longfellow to the Esplanade where fuel was dumped and the real mission could begin. Winding along the river, the fleet was rocked by the concussive bursts of fireworks being launched into the sky from ahead. Feared by our approach, the civilians responsible made a hasty exit to a nearby parked getaway transport.
The final approach to our destination was fraught with G-well activity but nevertheless the fleet persisted. A well earned shore leave was partaken where snacks were consumed. With pilots feeling the early onset of bananarama, the fleet made an exodus from the park to buzz the original SCUL fort before heading home.
Thus began a series of wrong turns as the navigator had yet to learn he was holding his starchart upside down. A brief stop at a blocked space lane due to a maneuvering transport was met with the surprised greetings from Tanager from a nearby window. The gang exchanged a quick greeting before moving on down the ill fated path taking us farther from home, and up an ever growing G-well.
The Navigator soon discovered his error when realizing he was approaching a nebula that shouldn't be there and turned the fleet around to point us home. Down the G-well, over the BU bridge and through the Central and Inman Constellations, to Fort Tyler we flew, with all pilots (and guest) completing the patrol successfully.
