Mission Summary
We set out from the launchpad following NaviMcFuzz with 15 pilots, 1 fresh cadet, and 2 guests to celebrate America's belated birthday, into a warm night rife with low lying nebula. Shortly we found ourselves traveling through the yards of Harvard, whose buildings and Yard housed the Continental Army during the Siege of Boston.
On our way to shore leave and ice cream molecules in the Davis Constellation, we passed a marker where "A sharp fight occurred here between the Patriots and the British. April 19, 1775"
Down the Somerville Community Path and Extension we went, dubbed by Mission Leader Bane Thunderwolf as the "Somerville Bicycle Highway", along which we passed near a number of sites from the American Revolution. Here are the ones I have identified:
- Central Hill, upon which is a Battery at the site of the "French Redoubt", built by the Revolutionary Army as part of the siege of Boston
- Prospect Hill, upon which was the citadel of George Washington and the raising of the grand union flag
- Cobble Hill, Site of "Putnam's Fortress" during the siege of Boston
We then passed into the Cambridge System, and conducted shore leave at the Lynch Family Skatepark. Trains were watched, ramps were ridden, Onewheels were spotted engaging in fanciful manoeuvres, chalk was deployed, snax were distributed, and 3 rounds of derby were held, with Lordmcfuzz, Skunk, and Kilo3 winning a round each.
Continuing into the Charlestown System, we travelled to the Charlestown Navy Yard, a landing site of the British Infantry in the Battle of Bunker Hill, and visited the USS Constitution and USS Cassin Young (both of which are from after the Revolution). We travelled past Winthrop Square, site of Charlestown's Militia Training Field, and up the Breeds Hill negi g-well to the Battle of Bunker Hill Monument. ?????? (Redacted) had an altercation with a sign ( ?????? (Redacted) won, the sign is mostly okay though) and we stopped for a rest and photo opportunities lended by the low lying nebula.
Once sufficiently rested, and the patterns of nebula movement sufficiently observed from supine positions, we relished in the fruit of our negi g-well suffering:
a posi g-well, and flew back to the fort, where Cadet fishtail was welcomed.
Ziqqurat was awarded a medal of Chic for the augmentations applied to Summer, including an American flag and red white and blue striping
Skunk was awarded a medal of Patronage for the bringing very American red grapes, white chocolate and blueberries.
