Today, SCUL turned 18. Now we can smoke, drink in Canada, and do all the other stuff we've already been doing all along anyway. Nine pilots set out from the fort, after a brief delay due to seatpost swapping on EZ-Raider. Stogie's navigation was fast and furious, causing Wombat's back to become drenched from the effort of hauling Cloudbuster at such a brisk pace.
We made it down to the Forest Hills T-stop without incident, until EZ-Raider's new seatpost finally gave way under the accumulated Snow fall. Stogie grabbed a brick, and Threespeed propped up the seat with Wookieebag and Toolbag, giving it enough temporary support to reach the top of the Arboretum hill.
Dogi had the wonderful idea of putting up a hammock, while the rest of the productive pilots took turns sawing away at the munged part of the seatpost under the glow of the brilliant near-full moon. After at least 30 minutes of heavy duty manual reciprocation using two Leatherman files as saws, we created our latest artifact, tentatively entitled "The Circumcised Seatpost". Threespeed was quick to chamfer the remaining seatpost, as per Bike Snob specification. Then he and Stogie reinforced the whole setup using Advanced Brick Technology™ and high-tensile-strength electrical tape, for which they were awarded Medals of Ingenuity. Surprisingly, we made it back to the fort before sun-up, due to Stogie's rapid pace, and lack of further mechanicals.
