First Strike

This was the first night patrol of the 1998 season. PitGirl and Skunk were originally going to take the Chrome Pony, but the single bolt holding the two chainrings together fell off. A quick repair was made, only to have the timing chain break during the preflight check procedure. Its first official SCUL voyage was postponed. This was Colostomos' first official ride, however, and seemed to respond well. The Reverse trike, yet to be named, had a 24" balloon tired rear wheel making it extra difficult to maneuver.

The course went from Fort Francis in the Watertown System, to the Harvard Constellation, to Central Constellation, to Lower Allston Subsystem. All completed the Feat of Strength over the LAPB (Lower Allston Pedestrian Bridge), and gained experience. We stopped at Luna Herrell's Ice Cream in The Allston System. A lot of civis commented on the ships, and a gypsy with a big shopping cart eyed the reverse trike for a more than long time. It seemed obvious that he wanted to steal the bike. From Luna Herrell's Crack departed early, and the rest of us headed back to base. On the way back during stunt maneuvers TerminatorS got his foot caught in the spokes of Colostomos hard enough to break four spokes and a reflector, but managed to complete the mission. For this and his amazing two wheeled trike riding he receives extra experience and honors for the mission.
