A flurry of last minute preparations, pilot reshuffling, and launch pad cargo rebalancing preceded 10 pilots setting out in celebration of DrClaw's orbital, with 2Lucky's guest Speed Rabbit joining us from the distant universe of Germany. Truck Stop led us out on our quest for kool snax, her first time as navigator. We wound our way, with some in flight geography discussion, to the Davis Constellation, where our first shore leave for kool snax occurred. With several options for how to get to nebulas, we headed off down the length of the Somerville Community Wormhole, to it's new terminus at North Point/Paul Revere parks.
Across the Charles asteroid belt, we quickly found ourselves traversing gauntlet after gauntlet, with the Garden, Faneuil Hall, and the North End busy with saturnite happenings. We passed by city hall playground, but with a high concentration of civilians (possibly due to a recent subspace anomaly), we decided to continue on, rather than stopping for shore leave. We stopped at the Aquarium to say a quick hello to the harbor seals and were back on our way, in quest of more nebula.
Briefly, shockwave dropped directly from warp into mechanical, during which 2Lucky and Speed Rabbit burned up. Several bags were reshuffled, and we were soon back on our way, making directly for the Charles asteroid belt again, with strong feelings of deja vu.
Once upon the esplanade, we discovered a sufficiently awesome playground, where we stopped for our final shore leave. Here we were passed by 2Lucky and Speed Rabbit on their way back to the fort, and pilots engaged in various physical traingings, such as anti-g-force clambering, suspended linear travel, and rotary g-force exposure. Meownderthal made an orbit of a rotational structure on a HARV. As we set to launch again, Leotard burned up, and some bags were reshuffled to optimise cargo distribution. The flight back to the fort was rather leisurely and uneventful, and bolstered by the oldskool groove, we remained in the wormhole until the fort was in striking distance.
