Fifteen pilots and two maggots set upon a course to the Lexington system, led by first-time navigator Snow. The fearsome prow of War parted the skies for smooth sailing as we found passage to our destination via wormholes.
Strange distortions to sonic disruptor fields were noted – the funk became increasingly mellowed and dispersed as we flew through the Arlington system and ever closer to the characteristic luscious lawns of our destination. Shore leave was taken at the black hole by Spy Pond to stare at art, including a rebar dinosaur.
As the battalion crossed into some swampy backwaters, Wadlow's primary thruster was attacked by invisible plasma-eating space weevils. Stogie weathered the attack valiantly, earning a Medal of Barf for his skilled deployment of high-altitude chemical weaponry. A team of pilots changed out the plasma casing – and shortly thereafter, when the new casing did not prove spaceworthy, repaired the old plasma casing. In the course of these efforts, much chalk was spent, one curious ST was placated, and Snow earned a Medal of Strength for proving that we didn't need all those silly tire levers. Threespeed bled for the efforts, earning a Medal of Injury.
Then, silence: the eerie quiet at the dark heart of Lexington System, where they retreat at night and distrust the funk.
As we approached the bronze figure of Captain John Parker, frozen in time, scattered transports and STs alike slowed to gaze with suspicion. So we quickly struck a pose for Stogie's camera, and sailed for home by Massachusetts Avenue. The skies were breezy, the choppers were fast, and a quick dive into a garbage compactor yielded tasty snacks to be enjoyed on the landing pad, while a civilian with a tiny greyhound distracted most of the battalion.
