Mission Summary

Seven pilots assembled to test the waters, to try new things... but just a little. Let's not go overboard.

On a steamy saturnight, Ft Antwerp was looking in fine shape after a productive MRC courtesy of Red Squirrel, Leotard, and Fleet Admiral Skunk. Gradually, pilots started to trickle in for the mission, including veteran pilot Natas, visiting from the other side of the galaxy. Semi-amphibious maggot Jaguar also joined us with his own sleek fighter ship. Just as we were headed for the launchpad, Acehole and Wombat turned up in time to take on a few last minute taskforce jobs.

eXceSs assumed navigational duties and set a course for the Night Market (this time, we were pretty sure we had the right intel). Right off the bat, some transmission issued on Albatross necessitated a brief stop at a playground for wookieing. As we were about to re-launch, the planetary surface beneath our feet suddenly activated several underground aqueous jets, providing an immediate opportunity to get our feet wet.

Crossing the Charles asteroid belt, we were barreling down on our target when eXceSs felt a familiar squishy buoyancy coming from his primary thruster. We pulled over just long enough to inject plasma, reckoning that a more comprehensive repair could happen once we'd accessed the secure perimeters of the market. Soon we were coasting along a familiar hubbub, punctuated by costumed civilians, several off-duty scul pilots, and an array of heavy transports emanating eclectic smells and sounds. As eXceSs fixed his plasma leak, periodic smashing sounds reverberated throughout the scene from the interior of one of the mysterious transports. After an extended shore leave to explore the night market's wares, we set course for a snax stop at a familiar Luna 7-11.

At this point, we contemplated our next move - should we push onwards to the north for a planned dose of radiation therapy? Should we cut our route short and go in search of unexplored territory? Fortunately, Acehole had the answer. After briefly charting a new course, we set off along a circuitous route through Alewife on several interconnected and never-before-seen wormholes, which gently bounced us through lush and cool corners of the starsystem. We skirted around the Arlington System and called silent running just at the edges of the Mystic Nebulae, where we coasted into the docking bay of Acehole's fort. This corner of space was dark, calm, and serene. Acehole disappeared into an auxiliary hangar and reappeared with two massive nautical spacecraft, one equipped with a dazzling laser array. Soon we were portaging these novel craft to a new location in the Mystic Asteroid Belt, where we only had to dodge a little bit of poison ivy to get to our target launch pad.

Pilots took turns effortlessly gliding around the nebula, lighting up fish and weeds beneath the keel and making sure no steering dampener was spilled in the process. The far-away lights of alien fortresses twinkled in the distance as the fleet relaxed in this quiet port. After our ya-yas were sufficiently out, we packed up and bid goodbye to Acehole back at his home fortress. We flew casual back to base, with a final toe-dip happening on the Charles on our way back to the Allston System.

On the landing pad, we congratulated ourselves on a successful mission and excitedly made plans to incorporate our new intel into the upcoming amphibious adventure. A Medal of Patronage was awarded to Acehole for his hospitality and provisioning of watercraft. All in all, a pretty sweet mission!
