MRG Vindaloo

This is a ship which was never built. This is the ship was always
being built. But here she is in all her sturmey-Archer glory:
She's
hot. She's tasty. She's…VINDALOO



I'm really proud of this ship. I built the whole thing, including
the
primary and directional thrusters, a rebuilt Sturmey S3C hub unit (I
did
that, too), everything. I plug-welded it during a couple of
sessions
at
ARC. Nameless threaded the steer tube; MonkeyBoy turned the
shoulder
for the crown race. But other than that, Vindaloo is all me.



I shook it down by riding it to work on Ride to Work Day. I had to
stop
and fix it about every fifteen minutes. The whole journey took
about
two hours. It probably would've been faster to walk there.



Hull: Old heavyweight bought at the Monson Swap. (Very similar to
42W
Delirium)

Primary thruster: Sturmey S3C (rebuilt) laced to a Rhinolite rim

Directional thruster: Drum brake hub laced to an Alex rim

Fork: 33" monotube extension

Control pillion: old, dried-out Brooks B72 on a length of solid
5/8"

Sonic disruptor array: Tin wind-up siren (hardly ever works), rotary
bell (sort of works every now and then), brontosaurus bell (works
most
of the time)

After 5 years in the basement, Vindaloo is now enjoying life at
Fort
Summer... Stogie is keeping the rust
off and maintaining her health. Thank You, Smasher.

Bells and whistles have changed, and a new Brooks saddle
installed...
She's going strong and is a great Century ship.
